Alan is often described by his peers as "conscientious and heavyweight" in relation to his agricultural expertise. He is a key member of the firms Litigation Department and heads the firms planning team. Alan regularly advises landowners on contentious matters such as Agricultural Holdings Act disputes, land tribunals, arbitrations, contractual disputes, partnership disputes and environmental landfill.
Alan is CEDR accredited and encourages clients to consider alternative dispute resolution (ADR) options in order to give them best value. Alan is a member of the Agricultural Law Association, a member of the Law Society’s Negligence Panel and a member of the AIC Arbitration Panel. His landmark cases include those relating to landlord & tenant, quotas and trust issues.
