Alison was admitted as a solicitor in 1986 and joined AMD in 2001. Alison has over 20 years experience as a solicitor. Alison specialises in the following areas:
FAMILY LAW
All aspects of family law, including complex financial and children issues on the breakdown of relationships between both married couples and cohabitees. Alison is a member of Resolution.
COLLABORATIVE LAW
Alison is a trained Collaborative Lawyer with considerable experience of this alternative approach to resolving relationship breakdown.
INHERITANCE ACT DISPUTES AND CONTENTIOUS PROBATES
Alison combines a family practice with contentious work that arises in the administration of estates. She has successfully acted for a number of claimants, including adult children, cohabitees and former spouses who have made claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependents) Act 1975.
Alison also acts for both executors and beneficiaries where the authenticity of a will, or the capacity of a testator, is challenged.
EDUCATION
Alison has an interest in Education Law and also advises parents of children with special educational needs as to their legal position.
