My work mainly consists of defending claims against solicitors, accountants and other financial professionals for professional indemnity insurers and the insured professional. I also advise in relation to policy coverage.
Recent claims that I have dealt with include claims against solicitors in relation to: pensions equalisation, the drafting of a sale and purchase agreement and an allegation of negligent advice to settle a claim shortly before trial. I have also represented accountants on claims arising from the provision of financial assistance, the valuation of a shareholding in divorce proceedings, mistakes in the preparation of tax returns/accounts and an alleged failure to apply for a tax exemption.
I recognise that different clients have different objectives, whether that be resolving a claim commercially or protecting your firm's reputation or a relationship with the claimant or a third party, and will work with you to resolve your dispute whether in court or through informal negotiations with the claimant or at mediation.
