Gemma joined the firm as a Trainee in January 2011 having completed a degree in Law at the University of Sussex in 2008. She gained a Distinction in her LPC from Nottingham Law School (Kaplan) in 2010.
Gemma undertook an extensive first seat in the Commercial and Civil Litigation Department assisting both Partners and fee earners. Gemma has attended Court with Counsel on many occasions and often conducts Hearings on her own.
Gemma undertook a joint seat in the Private Client Department and the Conveyancing Department. She assisted with preparing Wills, Lasting Power of Attorney applications and Deputyship Applications to the Office of the Public Guardian. She has also worked on assessment of Inheritance tax liability in probate matters.
Gemma has assisted with residential and commercial property matters and has also undertaken work on Landlord and Tenant matters
Gemma’s final seat was in the Family Department where she assisted with a mixed caseload of publicly funded and privately funded matters, including divorce and financial matters, contact issues, obtaining on notice injunctions and ex parte matters for non- molestation orders, prohibited steps orders and occupation orders. Gemma carried out advocacy at ex parte hearings and attended Court regularly with Counsel.
Gemma qualified as a Solicitor in January 2013 and took up a full time role in the Litigation Department. Gemma also assists with Matrimonial matters within her role at the firm.
