I joined Mills & Reeve as a trainee solicitor in September 2009 and qualified into our insurance team in September 2011. I assist on a wide variety of insurance and insurance litigation matters, primarily in the area of professional negligence. I also assist on policy matters such as late notification, misrepresentation and non-disclosure. I am currently working on cases involving financial institutions, insurance brokers, solicitors and construction professionals.
I have recently completed a nine month secondment working with the claims team of a large multi-national insurer, where I dealt with a variety of claims including directors and officers, construction, financial institutions and errors and omissions.
My secondment has allowed me to gain a unique insight into how our clients operate, which enables me to provide advice that responds to the needs of our insurer clients and deals with their regular concerns and considerations in relation to matters.
This experience has also enabled me to have a commercial as well as legal approach to the matters I work on, which saves both money and time for our clients. I have learned that there is a fine balance between presenting a strong and robust case and knowing the commercial limitations. I enjoy applying these considerations to complex legal problems and producing excellent results.
Our group is noted in Chambers UK for its "no-nonsense, proactive" advice. Our firm has a strong and growing presence in the market, and we are able to draw on a vast amount of experience in other specialisms across the firm.
