AC10 - Failing to Report an Accident

Close Up Of Pedestrian Crossing Sign On Busy RoadIf you are involved in a road traffic accident which results in another person being injured, it is illegal not to report the incident to the police within 24 hours of the accident taking place. The maximum punishment, should you commit this offence, is a six month prison sentence.  You may receive a fine instead, or as an additional punishment (which will be lower than level 5). In addition, you will receive an endorsement which carries anywhere from 5 to 10 points on your licence. There is also the possibility of being disqualified from driving.
