Here, a conciliator meets the parties separately and acts as a communicator between them, interpreting their needs and generally trying to resolve the dispute as amicably as possible. As the name suggests, it is about trying to bring parties back together, and is commonly used in marital disputes where emotions run high and face-to-face meetings could jeopardise the process. Outcomes cannot be enforced, however.
