I have extensive experience of advising the insurance market in relation to a variety of disputes. I have a particular focus on construction professionals, including contractors, architects, engineers and surveyors. I have also defended professional negligence claims against accountants, brokers, IFAs and lawyers. I have experience of acting for insurers in pursuing subrogated recovery claims and have advised on the defence of public and product liability claims, both in an insurance and a reinsurance context.
I have recently taken two matters to mediation, successfully securing favourable settlements that were in the interests of both my insurer and insured client. In both cases, the claimants had significantly overvalued their claims and had been extremely difficult to deal with (in one case the claimants were litigants in person). It was therefore extremely satisfying to cut through the difficulties between the parties and to negotiate an outcome that our clients were happy with.
I have a focused approach to the matters that I deal with and clients have commented on my ability to “get a good result” on their behalf.
