I have worked at Mills & Reeve since September 2006, working in our London insurance team specialising in professional indemnity defence litigation. I have also worked in our Birmingham office.
I work defending claims against a wide range of professionals including solicitors, surveyors, architects, engineers, design and build contractors, bailiffs and independent financial advisers. I also act on subrogation and contribution claims.
I have experience of dealing with professional indemnity claims in different jurisdictions, most recently in Jersey and Belgium.
I also advise insurers on complex policy coverage issues, and help them and their insureds settle disputes sensibly and commercially. This is often through various types of alternative dispute resolution or litigation, however always bearing in mind the most cost effective strategy.
My experience in the insurance market has been amplified further through a secondment as a senior claims adjuster at a leading insurer in 2011.
I enjoy working in a high paced, litigious environment where I am required to turn work around swiftly, yet maintain a high standard for my professional clients. I particularly enjoy my work area because of the variety. No two cases are the same. I also enjoy the challenge of working to the high standard demanded by a sophisticated, professional client base.
I am able to deal with a variety of different professionals, getting quickly to grips with the nature of their business and own commercial relationships.
I get straight to the point and have been told by clients that I am very much a safe pair of hands given I am always “on the ball”.
