AccessSolicitor.com and Westminster University Celebrate

AccessSolicitor.com, an online legal directory of more than 15,000 lawyers, is celebrating the publication of its 125th legal guide in partnership with Westminster University in less than 12 months.

AccessSolicitor.com was launched in August 2013 with the aim to make it as easy as possible for consumers and small business owners to find the right lawyer for their needs.

As well as providing information on lawyers, AccessSolicitor.com produces and publishes free legal guides to inform consumers and small business owners about their rights. Its detailed legal guides cover everything from getting divorced and moving house to business disputes and immigration, helping readers understand when and why they might need further advice from a lawyer.

Over half of Access Solicitor’s legal guides are produced in partnership with the University of Westminster’s Law School, and the announcement it has completed its 125th guide comes just weeks after Lisa Webley, Professor of Empirical Legal Studies at Westminster University, announced the 100 guide during a talk at Reinvent Law London 2014, a conference on the future of legal practice.

Webley, says: “Access Solicitor has offered many of our students valuable work experience over the last 12 months, and together we are helping clients make more informed decisions about their legal issues. When we started I couldn’t imagine that Access Solicitor would be publishing its 125th legal guide within the first year of our partnership.”

AccessSolicitor.com’s founder and chief executive Warren Smith also announced that the site is now welcoming other expert contributors to the site. Work can be submitted in the form of either a legal guide, or guest blog, and Google author credit will be provided.

“We are now opening up the platform for any legal specialist to share their knowledge and improve access to justice, and for digital marketing experts to share best practices with lawyers” he said. “Professional contributors are rightly selective in the channels they publish through, which is why we’ve waited a year for the site traffic to scale up and offer adequate exposure,” said Smith, adding: “By publishing their expertise with us lawyers will significantly improve their online reach to the right target clients, and also be part of our mission to provide clients improved access to justice through user friendly legal guides and information.”
