I have experience of defending claims against a wide range of professionals including brokers, solicitors, accountants and valuers in the UK and overseas. I have also dealt with policy coverage issues and first party property insurance. I also assisted Neil Davis on a complex Non Party Costs Order claim brought against an Insured Heron v TNT (UK) Ltd & Anor (2013), which was successfully defended at the Court of Appeal.
Prior to joining Mills & Reeve in 2011, I worked as a claimant solicitor for almost three years, specialising in lender claims against professionals. With experience in acting for both claimants and defendants, I have an ability to drill down the issues of a claim quickly. I have also done a six-month secondment as a claims adjuster at a leading Lloyds Insurer which involved casualty claims in construction, employer and public liability in the UK and overseas.
I enjoy working in a fast paced, challenging and intelligent environment that insurance claims bring to my field. I like working under pressure and having to think of creative solutions to problems. I enjoy resolving claims for my clients and getting great results.
One particularly satisfying result was when a claim against a solicitor insured was discontinued following receipt of our robust letter of response which led to a contribution towards our costs.
I previously worked for the Department Trade and Industry investigating in the Disqualifications Unit investigating directors who have fraudulently traded.
