Scott is a Senior Associate in our Shipping group and works predominantly in contentious matters arising from the carriage of oil and chemicals by sea involving charterparties and bills of lading. Non contentious matters include advising in connection with Guardcon and the deployment of armed guards onboard merchant vessels.
Scott advises regularly in connection with high value cargo contamination matters, unsafe port disputes, general average, claims arising in connection with main engine breakdowns and bunker related disputes.
Scott has recently advised the owners of a gantry crane in connection with collision related damage, repairs and business interruption loss and numerous tanker owners/P&I Clubs in relation to high value liquid cargo claims arising in various coastal states including Africa, China, India and Saudi Arabia.
Scott specialises in overseas ship and installation investigations, including the interview of key witnesses and the preservation and gathering of evidence.
