I joined Mills & Reeve in January 2003 and became a partner in 2008. I am head of the firm's national financial claims team. The team defends claims against financial institutions and financial professionals.
My caseload consists mainly against accountants, auditors, professional trustees, independent financial advisers, stockbrokers, pension fund administrators and hedge fund managers. I also defend professional negligence claims against solicitors. I have over 15 years of post qualified experience.
I am also a regular speaker on financial and legal topics to insurers and insureds.
I specialise in professional negligence claims against accountants and auditors, IFAs, lawyers and trustees. I have substantial experience of court proceedings and have conducted over thirty mediations.
On the non-contentious side, I draft policy wordings for insurers and Lloyd’s syndicates and advise on policy issues and disputes. The policies are either PI or FI/D&O, and usually of a financial nature.
I am also fluent in French and act for insurers with French-based insureds. My language skills and knowledge of the French legal system mean I can liaise directly with French lawyers (or loss adjusters) and report back to Lloyd’s or company markets, giving insurers reserves and updates without needing translators.
